For over a decade, the online gambling industry has experienced a huge surge, as millions of people log on every day to bet on a wide range of casino games. Today, the online casino market is one of the biggest in the online business world, and many young professionals are looking for a way to get into the industry.
To meet this demand, the Isle of Man – in conjunction with Hamblin Employment Group – launched an e-Gaming course, meant to educate individuals who wish to work in online gambling environments. The first foundation course ran for three days and consisted of four separate modules. It covered general information about the e-gaming industry, as well as risks and responsibilities associated with working for an online casino.
50% of each student’s tuition was funded by the Department of Economic Development in the Isle of Man. Because the island is one of the biggest online gaming centres in the world, it is only natural that the government should want to encourage individuals to get involved in its most profitable industry. Several online gambling operators have based their operations in the Isle of Man, and as the industry continues to expand, so will the job opportunities to e-gaming specialists.
