Couple Weds in UK Casino

Nowadays, weddings can take place in the quirkiest of places, but it’s rare that a couple would want to get married inside casino. However, Chris Verral and Emma Doman had that dream and made it a reality, after getting married in the first wedding ceremony to ever be held in a UK casino.
The wedding took place in Maxims Casino, located in Westcliffe, Essex. It had recently become the first casino in the UK to be issued an online gambling license, and the operator wanted to make the occasional monumental. So, Maxims launched a local contest published in the newspaper. The prize would be an all-expense paid wedding on the casino floor.
Verrall was stationed in Afghanistan when he was informed that he won the prize, making this an even sweeter story for the lucky couple. While it doesn’t sound like the classiest place to have a wedding, Emma Doman recalls feeling like a “princess” on her special day. It was fairy tale wedding for the couple.
Maxims Casino hopes to start a new trend with this event. Although many people head to Las Vegas to get married, ceremonies are not permitted to take place on a casino floor. Maxims may be setting a precedent, prompting other casino operators to apply for wedding licenses.
