It has just been announced that David and Victoria Beckham are expecting their fourth child. Celebrity gossip columns erupted with activity upon the release of the news, but another, unlikely industry seems all too interested in the birth of the new Beckham baby.
Almost immediately after the announcement of Victoria’s pregnancy, odds were posted on the popular sportsbetting site. Punters across the UK can now place bets on what they believe the name of the new baby will be. It’s too early to tell if the baby will be a boy or a girl, so the website if offer odds for names for both genders.
The favourite is currently Sandra, the name of David Beckham’s mother with odds of 10/1. Victoria says she’s hoping for a girl this time, which may have had some impact on these odds. In the male market, it is believed that the next Beckham may be a ‘Junior’ as the odds of the baby being named David are 12/1.
There are over 40 different options that punters can choose from. The possible names range from very plain names like “John” to those that are a little out there like “Galaxy” and “Destiny”. But, the unusual names may be more profitable bets, seeing as their three sons are already named Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.
