Grays Bingo Hall in Quarry Hill will be supporting The Great Daffodil Appeal, a fundraising initiative by the Marie Curie Cancer Care organization.
The bingo hall will be using several different approaches to raising money for this worthy cause. In addition to charity auctions, Grays will also be hosting yellow-themed days and general fund collections on the street.
The funds collected will not only help to keep the organization up and running; they will also go towards the construction of a new hospice building. In the new building, Marie Curie will offer patients newer, more private rooms, an expanded day therapy unit as well as new and improved counselling services.
This marks the second year in a row that Grays will be taking part in The Great Daffodil Appeal. Last year, the bingo hall helped to raise a significant amount of funds for the charity and hopes to raise upwards of 5.5 million this time around.
Bingo has long been used as a fundraising tool, and Grays is dedicated to using its facility to continue to the tradition.
