A bingo club in Norwich has raised a great deal of money to help the East Anglia Children’s Hospice. Bingo is always a great game for fundraising and the Mulbarton Social Club decided to use its existing bingo games to raise money for a worthy cause.
Every Sunday, the social club hosts bingo and raffle nights, the profits from which were accumulated as the funds to be given to the children’s hospice. Last year, the club raised £1000 for the cause and hope to set a similar goal this year.
The East Anglia Children’s Hospice is a charity that provides care for children that have life-threatening illnesses and support for their families. The services include day care, music therapy, practical help and bereavement support.
To pay for the nurses and therapists that make the hospice charity run, £11 000 is needed every day. At the end of the year, this amounts to over £4 million, making bingo fundraisers and other forms of donations essential to the operations of the charity.
